And speaking of passion, Julie Carceller invited National Artist, the master of Philippine contemporary art no less, Bencab onstage to demonstrate how art and technology can merge seamlessly in true SMART Infinity style. Seeing him onstage, drawing Sabel, a recurring character in his body of work, was breathtaking. I was in awe the entire time and couldn't peel my eyes off the screen.

Travel in Style with the SMART Infinity S6 & S6 edge

These days, I find it impossible to travel without a mobile phone. Whether it's halfway across the world, or a few steps out of our front door.

I use it to research on restaurants or tourist attractions, to get to our destination via Waze, and to keep tabs on where my travel companions are, in case we get split up. It's a trusted tool in sending photos of shopping bilins real time to family and friends. That way, we can all decide on a purchase, real time too. Heehee.

But here's where it gets better. If you sign up for the Smart Infinity Prestige Plan 5000 or Premium Plan 8000, you get a Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 edge

Either device will come compliments of your chosen plan, and will also include complimentary Philippine Airlines Mabuhay Miles* that may be used for International or Domestic flights, along with other perks.

For those who simply wish to avail of the Samsung Galaxy S6, the device will come compliments of Smart Infinity Plan 3500 for a limited time, or until May 31, 2015.

Should you choose to avail of the pure PAL Mabuhay Miles package (no phone), you'd get enough points to fly to Cebu, Singapore, Melbourne, even London or New York.

This is the first time that Smart Infinity grants its members an exceptional experience of receiving a new, premium device such as the Samsung S6 or S6 edge and being able to take it along to a dream destination.

Release of the phones will be on April 18, 2015 but interested subscribers may now register their interest at smart.com.ph/Infinity/S6.

Plus, if you avail of the S6 or S6 edge plan from March 27 to April 13, you will get a chance to win an exclusive 3 day/2 night stay in Shangri-la Boracay plus flights c/o PAL for two (2), to Boracay.

"We are very excited to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 edge with a package perfectly designed to suit the impeccable taste of the discerning set, and cater to the demands of their active, multifaceted lifestyles,” said Julie Carceller, Head of the Smart Infinity Business Group at Smart.

“This is an offer that will allow our members to enjoy the best of both worlds – that is, the advantage of using a high-style, highly functional smartphone running on the country’s largest and most advanced mobile network, and the pleasures of exclusive perks on top of the renowned personalized service they can only expect from Smart Infinity,” added Carceller.

“At Smart Infinity, it’s all about the experience. Beyond just providing superior network services and the latest, sought-after devices, we understand that Smart Infinity members are achievers who seek new experiences in life and leisure. Thus, we are providing plans that give our members the latest Samsung Galaxy devices which are tools for success, plus PAL Mabuhay Miles to serve our members unforgettable moments to celebrate their achievements.” said James Chi, Marketing Manager from Smart Infinity.

Chicago Live, Thanks to Smart Infinity

When my friend Maymay and I went to the Gala Night of Chicago the Musical at The Theatre at Solaire, we knew we were in for a treat, thanks to Smart Infinity, and what a treat it was!

I personally loved Chicago the Movie, with Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Richard Gere, so it was fun and thoroughly entertaining to see it on stage, ala Broadway or the West End, right here in Manila.

One more fantastic thing about the musical? The all-Filipino orchestra, headed by Robert Billig, the musical’s conductor who joined “Chicago” three months into its original run in 1975.

I later found out that it only took four masterful hours for 14 Filipino musicians to get “All That Jazz” together and come out sounding like a well-acclaimed “Chicago” stage orchestra, at the Theatre – Solaire.
“A four-hour rehearsal, yeah, that’s all we were allowed. I knew from the very beginning [that we’re well covered with the Filipino talents we found] as soon as we played the overture. We met for four hours together on Tuesday (Dec. 2) and that was it! We did the dress rehearsal the following day and the opening that night (Dec. 3). So they came a long way in two days, pulling this show together,” said Billig.

Billig performed with 14 Filipino musicians he selected from 25 submitted video auditions prior to “Chicago’s” Manila debut.

Unlike other musicals, “Chicago” weaves its band into the story and Billig gets to be part of the performance alongside its touring cast led by Terra MacLeod (Velma Kelly) and Bianca Marroquin (Roxie Hart) who have performed for Manila media and members of Smart Infinity since the start of the musical’s Manila run last December 3.

There's the Filipino orchestra right behind Velma and Roxie's lawyer, Billy Flynn

“The ongoing run of ‘Chicago’ is part of the realization of the premium mobile lifestyle that complements the experience our members get from Smart Infinity. The experience of seeing the longest-running Broadway musical in Manila is really a big takeaway for our members,” said James Chi, marketing manager at Smart Infinity.

“Just like the successful local runs of other world-class stage spectacles like ‘Cats,’ ‘Mamma Mia,’ ‘The Phantom of the Opera,’ and ‘Wicked,’ bringing ‘Chicago’ to the Philippines is again a very special treat for our subscribers,” said Julie Carceller, Department Head of the Smart Infinity Business Group at Smart.

Hello to SMART iPhone 6 + 6 Plus

With my fellow iPhone 6 users: Angela aka Donya Z of Zenutrients, Tita K and moi

The phone that Tita K is using above is the new iPhone 6 Plus. Bongga divah? The phone I am holding close to my chest is the new iPhone 6, big thanks to my blog sponsor, SMART Infinity!

Smart recently launched the new iPhones to its SMART Infinity clients/VIPs last November 13 at Salon de Ning, where Julie Carceller, SMART Infinity business group department head and James Chi, SMART Infinity Marketing Manager led the SMART Infinity VIP Welcome Night.

As it turns out, it is a SMART Infinity tradition to reward their members with the first batch of Smart-released iPhones in the country, which is just fitting for their premium clients who expect nothing less than SMART Infinity's renowned aftersales service and premium perks and privileges.

Case in point: Premium Plan 8000 clients receive two iPhone 6 16GB or an iPhone 6 16GB and a Macbook Air. Wow.

Prestige Plan 5000 clients receive an iPhone 6 64GB or iPhone6 Plus 16GB plus Php5,000 worth of GCs or credits to their Monthly Service Fee.

The countdown to the launch was made more exciting with raffle prizes, gourmet food and live entertainment by Sabor Latino.

I rarely go out at night, but I have to admit, it was fun to be out that evening, enjoying the band's music with Dada, and excitedly awaiting my new phone. Wahaha.

I was so excited I got a case right there at the event, even before I had the phone.

And when I finally got the phone, woohoo!

But I did not open it and tinker with it until I woke up in the morning, where I instantly loved the lighter feel and bigger screen.

The iPhone 6 launch was not all hype, I have to tell you.

Just three days after the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus launched to the public, this was what greeted me at the SMART Center in Shangri-la as I paid my bill.

For realz.
